Alyssa Wendzel
Where words fail, music speaks.
— Hans Christian Andersen

Alyssa is a Southern California native, Bay Area transplant, focused on creating pop music that empowers the artist and the audience. Alyssa began her music career in 2012 during her time at the University of California at Berkeley, in a Bay Area indie-rock duo called Ordinary Thieves. Together, the band created an EP entitled "Abandon," (released in 2014) and an LP called "Furthest Point From Here," (released in October 2015). After working together for 4 years, Ordinary Thieves came to an end, and Alyssa began a career in songwriting for television and female pop vocalists.

Alyssa has a passion for working with young women entering into the music industry. She writes for women who want to share a message of women's empowerment, while not sacrificing the complexity of human emotion and diversity. Her writing focuses on the importance of marrying catchiness with cohesive, poetic lyrics. Alyssa is currently an in-house songwriter at Focal Productions, a production house  in the Bay Area, signed by Sony.

Empty Spaces (2017)

Empty Spaces is a pop/EDM song I wrote back in 2016. Originally, it was written as a simple pop song, with a sung post-chorus, and vocals only backed by a piano and atmospheric harmonies. Today's version (preview below) was produced into an EDM-masterpiece by Spooky Rockstar and myself at Focal Productions

"Empty Spaces" was released on March 21st by the lovely and talented Mariah Belgrod.

"Empty Spaces," is now on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon, Google Play, Tidal, Pandora, and more!
